So, how are things going this week? I am in class right now (intermediate greek grammar). Not too bad a week for the average. I am probably going to be moved to full time at fedex and that will provide for us sufficiently. Well, the professor is back so I am going to split.
Love y'all.

Who says you have to stop just because the professor walks into the class? By the way, good luck in Greek. I'm in exegesis, I feel your pain. Jason

Jason, I am accutely aware that your ability to absorb the greek language and to also catch up on news at the same time is honed to a fine edge; however, my own ability to even catch up on news while no one is teaching is limited. I find that if I try 100% to follow the professor I do better in the language (yes. . .better is relative). So are you taking more than just exegesis of greek? How is it going?

Actually, most classes I can't pull it off. You miss too much. The only time I surf during class is during the housekeepping stuff like attendance or deciding due dates. I've only got two other classes so the load is pretty light. There is something kind of big coming up but I'll let you know more when I find out more.

Something.....kind of big.......coming up...hmmm....rather general you are.....interesting it will be....sure am I. Wait for it I will, gladly. Well that was weird...I think I just felt a surge of the force. Just kidding. I am in Panera enjoying coffee and free wireless. Off to work for my first day being full time at fedex. It will be good I am sure, but I am a bit anxious as to what will eventually be added to my plate as a fulltimer. Oh well, you do what you have to to make it to the goal. Well, I gotta run.

Hey, Mark!
Nice use of the force. As I AM TYPing this (forgive the caps; I am still learning the skill of the laptop), two of my boys (Jack and Nat) are bsy playing the new Lego Star Wars game for the 360. :-)

How are you doing? How is Anne? Congratulations, by the way! :-) When is the little one due?

I am so glad that I have two awesomely cool blogging buddies to whom I can ask deep theological issues. As of last week, I am now the associate editor of the youth materials at Regular Baptist Press. Part of my new responsibilities will be to head up the revision of both the senior high and junior high Sunday School curriculum.

I am currentlY workiing through the SH course on Joshua.

Are either of you familiar with the the theory that Rahab (Joshua 2) married one of the spies that she hid? Do you know a good commentary that I can refer to for Joshua?

Any help that you can offer would be greatly appreciated.:-)

Good luck in Greek; I am glad that I didn't have to take it!

You might look at the New American Commentary on Joshua. I don't think it is too indepth and relatively conservative. Jason may well have a better idea on that subject as he has now started to delve into the OT studies a bit longer than I. Sounds like you will be busy and will have a lot of responsibility. What the children of this generation learn will be the development of theology for the next 50-60 years. It is imperative that the text be taught and the God of the text be glorified. There is too much watering down of theology today as it pertains to children's ministry in general but the opposite potential is amazing. PTL you can have a part in that.

Mark, thanks for the tip on the commentary. I will check into that one.

I totally agree with your comments on the church material for youth. Even the RBP material has been pretty weak in the past. But with God's help, we are working to change all of that.

It is exciting to be writing material. I really enjoy it. It is also nice to work part time from home. That has been a HUGE blessing to me and my family. It is definitely overwhelming sometimes, but I am thankful for the opportunities that await.

Check out my blog: future of hope.

Take care and tell Anne hello for me.

Erin
